How to Spot a Fake Delivery Text Message

Safety Alert

Fake parcel messages are common because they look urgent and familiar. They may say a delivery failed, a small fee is due, or you need to confirm your address.

Warning signs

  • The message asks you to tap a shortened or unusual link.
  • It asks for card details, a banking code or a one-time passcode.
  • It creates pressure by saying your parcel will be returned today.
  • The spelling, sender name or web address looks slightly wrong.

What to do

Do not tap the link. Open the delivery company's app or website yourself, or check the tracking number from the shop where you ordered. If you are unsure, ask someone you trust before entering details.

Simply Tech Support will never ask you to send passwords, PINs or banking codes by message.
